Introduction to

Principle 4A. PETITION

Now that we have studied in depth three God-Oriented Principles: 1)God’s Name, 2)God’s Kingdom, and 3) God’s Will; we are to begin the last half of the Prayer Jesus offered as an example. It turns from the vertical emphasis to the horizontal emphasis. That is, we are now looking at our mutual relationship "The Created" with "The Creation": Man-Oriented Principles 4)Petition for Needs, 5)Confession of Sins Committed, and 6)Resolution that No Failures Come through Sin.

The Priority of these Principles is important to observe at this point! Until we put priority in our praying on the vertical: (God-ward aspects) we cannot expect much forward progress on the horizontal: (physical and other human needs basis of our originally defective prayer mode.)

Having done this God-focused praying however we are better enabled to know about and pray for our true human and earthly needs. It is time to learn how to petition God for those needs.
