A Prayer Notebook Introduction

The [First] 1980 Prayer Notebook
Can Dogs Pray? (69873 bytes)My parents taught me to pray before going to bed.
Those expectations have a powerful influence on us all! Even our pets! (smile!)
It was a prayer beside my bed in the summer of 1972 that brought to me full assurance of my salvation!

When the disciples saw and heard Jesus pray, something within them said, "What would it be like to have such a relationship with God as Jesus had?"

Jesus' life was a powerful life that communicated the importance of fellowship with our Father in Prayer. Others saw Him pray and it created strong desires to understand and experience the blessing of such a life.

It was probably like the desire the disciples on the road to Emmaus felt when they said, "Did our heart not burn within us...?" -- (Luke 24:13-31)

This Introduction is to write out what I have learned about prayer to accompany a copy of my "Daily Prayer Notebook." This should help you learn how to use it and understand the great power available to those who study it.

You can read later How To Start Your Own Notebook, but we urge you to begin this study with the Lord's Prayer, and understanding it, by going now to the Classes Page to read further material explaining how each part of the outline relates to another.
