Merry Christmas to You!

Isaiah 9:7

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end,

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice

From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Greetings from Connecticut

And what great nation is there that has such  statutes and righteous judgments
as are in all this law which I set before you this day?
 – Deu 4:8

Dear Beloved Family,

and friends, we greet you in the lovely name of Jesus as we celebrate our Thankfulness and Jesus’ Birth. There was a beautiful story on the radio relating to the first Thanksgiving celebrated in Massachusetts in 1623. In a dire prospect of certain starvation after welcoming 35 new pilgrim settlers to their already struggling settlement, rations were cut again in half to survive the winter. A day of fasting and humiliation before God was proclaimed because without His favor that year, starvation was certain. God answered this day, and because of the answer, they were compelled to celebrate His gracious provision. We need an American nation to realize the famine facing us of our starving faith from coast-to-coast in the same way! For this reason...

Pat’s Ministry Expands

Based on the declines in America over the past 6 years, and over the last two years Pat has a burden for America, and has decided to do something about it hoping for a revival in America based on our grand and glorious heritage. His nursing home ministries are now augmented: Both are now being done weekly. And at Riverside Health Care Center on Thursday evenings in April 2013, Pat began teaching on American History, first with material from David Barton. Then in April, 2014, he began Sunday afternoons, instead, a program of school-room like materials covering our U.S. Constitution and the founding of America. On the first Sunday each month he still preaches (for 26 years now)but relates it to the other weekly lessons.

The course is thrilling to our group coming from the National Center for Constitution Studies and his purpose is to make the regular attenders understand the reasons America has drifted quickly away from the very concepts that have made ‘US’ exceptional. Some of our material is documented at [Take the top link] www.aprayernotebook.net/pray/

America: [Pray4America Project(p4ap.htm)]

The material is redefining the way we pray for America for us all.

We have also this year been allowed to restore a virus-eaten 6-computer lab resource center complete with free wifi at Riverside where Pat ministers, and are encouraging residents to use computers in their rooms we will load with biblical software and edifying audio/video.

He ministers also every Tuesday evening for his “Bible Study” at Westside Care Center begun after the conversion of Bernie Meisler (1918-2008) in Manchester, October 19, 2003. We just finished Victory Over the Darkness – N. Anderson, a book about spiritual growth from the Bible.

Our Middle Ages Medical

In January after numerous warnings to us over-60'ers Pat asked a Gastroenterologist client to perform two recommended procedures at one time. It was good news that Pat’s digestive problems now surfacing are not related to any cancer at this time! But alerted us to the new diet we need to implement. It also made us more aware of how our health newsletter organization works.    Since a self-arranged ENT Dr. Visit in April 2013 Pat believes he has Laryngopharyngeal Reflux or what’s called ‘Silent’ Reflux, similar to Gastro-Acid Reflux but less detectable until it has become severe. So we are learning to “Drop Acid” in our diet. He has new voice- box/throat issues, and deadly esophageal cancer is a threat. An article revealed 80M of an estimated 100M Americans have this! David @ a Nat’l Taekwondo Comp David

paint-~1.gifIn May, David and his Dad went to New Jersey to have him compete in a national taekwondo competition. He was awarded a bronze medal for his Black-belt routine FORM. We managed to get a video of his last practice run just before the testing and can be downloaded from his page in our family web. He will only have to attend one more tournament which will involve sparring against other Black-belt candidates to finally earn his actual “Black-Belt”. Hopefully that can happen some time soon in 2015.

Watch him, if you can, at: www.aprayernotebook.net/ ctlanyons/david/forms

In the meantime he cleans carpets and offices with us as our labor technician. When he is not doing taekwondo or cleaning you will find him doing his real vocational love: COMPUTER TECHNICAL SERVICE! www.glorycarpetcleaning.com/ david/computers.htm

Joseph Enters Senior Year

lanyon2.jpgFigure 4 Joseph, David & Christine, @ Picard Holiday meal Pensacola Christian College has been a great challenge for Joseph, and he is progressing through his Business Management major’s highest level courses. But his breaks from college are thoroughly enjoyed and filled full with service to Church attenders and neighbors. Everyone is sorry to see him leave and grateful to have him return. He is always mowing yards, and especially fixing or selling used bikes to anyone who recognizes his gifted-ness in this vocation. He will most likely finish up school in January of 2015 and return for May Graduation Commencement.

  Business Ministry

Cleaning inside CT homes still thrills us. Though the economy in our state is still depressed, and the state debt is seriously high, people still arrange carpet cleaning, and we give our testimony to anyone willing to hear more. We work hard in every home we clean.

ole1.gifMary Davis’ Ministry

Chris’ sister Mary Davis has just completed a 6-month missions trip to Haiti at her own expense. She plans to return in January for another 6 months. Please pray for her. We are very grateful to see her doing this!

Christine

Chris loves to meet the needs of others. She can be seen before and after each service delivering birthday and anniversary cards, and bags of clothes and other goodies which have been given to her previously. She is found serving in the nursery monthly, in her primary Sunday school class weekly, and at banquets and fellowships.

She really enjoys the monthly ladies’ Bible Study, and God is greatly using her humble servant spirit in church. And in Sunday school class she uses great creativity for memorable events to the students in 1st and 2nd grades.

She is also busy each day: cleaning jobs we have on our accounts, bookkeeping for a cleaning business, washing clothes, shopping for food for her family, and yes trying her hand at a garden.

With all this activity, attends the pains of growing older and the deterioration of joints in the body. But all is gratifying when the results come in. She is an irreplaceable component for all of us, and everyone knows it.

The Conclusion

We are all very grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in CT at Truth Baptist Church. God has graciously allowed us to do what we love to do while serving Him in an excellent church and to raise our family here also.

We are blessed to be living in America, and our ‘historic’ study reminds us of the privilege it is to live here. And we are encouraging all we know to pray for God’s merciful blessings to continue upon it.

We also wish you a Blessed Christmas season as we remember the Babe in a Manger who will one day rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in a ‘nation’ of peoples who know Him in perfect peace.

We have included in some of our letters an excellent booklet from Answers In Genesis un-myth-ing a lot of Christmas traditions:

Answer True or False? For each statements

T F 1. Mary was in labor when she got into town, so Joseph had to take whatever lodging he could get.

T F 2. The Bible uses the Greek word kataluma translated "inn." Kataluma means "small hotel."

T F 3. The Bible says that Mary and Joseph spent the night in a stable.

T F 4. The innkeeper told Mary and Joseph there was no room for them in the inn.

T F 5. The innkeeper's wife brought water and towels to Mary and assisted in Jesus's birth.

T F 6. The Bible says there were three wisemen.

T F 7. The wisemen were present the night of Christ's birth.

Since all of these were probably false, you may want to get a copy from us online: (just right click pdf) http://aprayernotebook.net/nativity/ and “save as” to your computer.

Sincerely yours in our Blessed Lord,

Pat Christine David & Joseph
