"Biblical Concepts" we discovered teaches the confession of cross generation of sins which we believe to be *unscriptural*: 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and *the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from ALL sin.* =====Pat, Christine, David & Joseph Christmas, 2004 The Lanyon Family Homeland Serving the LORD in East Hartford, CT The Lanyons | Pat, Christine, David & Joseph prayer@glorycarpetcleaning.com [disabled now] 47 Long Hill Street | East Hartford, CT 06108 860-528-7205 Dear Family and Friends, God is so gracious to us and to our nation. This year has brought America a reminder of our need to trust in Him. We’re grateful He has shown kindness in allowing the competent, but unrecognized ability of our Commander-in-Chief to secure our nation and bring some more freedoms to a world that struggles to appreciate anything good and godly. We continue to experience God’s gracious spirit of help and strength for our family. Chris has been a chief contributor of our forward progress this year. She cooks, teaches, does bookkeeping, helps in business cleaning, cleans our home, teaches Sunday School, volunteers for church special events, and so many other things our head spins seeing it all happen. David completed the third full year at Hartford Christian Academy in May. We heard BJU had a dvd program as part of their home satellite school program. The cost, convenience, and flexibility it lent to us for this school year was too much to resist. Both boys love it and are getting a fully comparable education through it. Our church "Home Schoolers" are very well organized this year and the boys are eager to participate in it’s activities. David loves our new teen program at church and tries to make every youth activity. David also participates in a local martial-arts school as an excellent physical-education part of his home schooling. It was recommended to us by friends from our church and it seems to be the perfect compliment to our home schooling. He rises at 5:30 am on his own, studies independently and loves taking his school from the DVDs. He bikes to church as often as weather will permit each Sunday morning and evening as well as Wednesdays for Bible Study. He practices the piano at church, helps in the afternoon “Sunday Surrender” program with recreation activities, then sets up the gym for our Sunday evening service. We’ve out-grown the old auditorium for this service and special services like revivals. He then helps take down chairs after the evening service. We are proud of his teachable hard working spirit. Joseph has an excellent set of teachers for his Sixth Grade. He is fun loving , plays in the water, all over the yard, and throws balls in the air. Joseph likes matchbox style cars. He loves having company. Joseph has been planning his January birthday party since sometime early last spring! He did a great job telling a story at the last home school meeting on Harvest Day. We installed new windows in our master bedroom, kitchen, living room, front porch, and upstairs which now completes the whole house. This will mean a much warmer winter for us this year. We also replaced three ceilings this year. We are getting old, so this may be our last major project that we do ourselves. Bernie, our Jewish friend, was baptized on Memorial Sunday in May, and he continues to grow slowly but solidly. Though he has gone through some bouts with his health (growth on his Pancreas), and trials (death of sister, losing denture) he is amazing his daughter and son-in-law. I am hoping it will bring them closer are to the Lord. Pr. 19.27 Cease listening to instruction, my son, And you will stray from the words of knowledge. Hearing a man from our church teach at Bernie’s Nursing Home on Tuesdays has inspired me to order a “biblical counseling seminar” I can strongly endorse.[recalling this!] It has helped me spiritually begin to sort out some of the hidden problems of life and I can see it to be a significant removal of blinders that seem to acquire over the years of life. It is available at www.biblical-concepts.com. I have ordered a set for both my sister-in-law and associate pastor. I have shown the dvds to several including church friends and relatives. It has been my greatest blessing this year by far. May God bless and guide you as you serve Him. Love in Christ, From Pat, Chris, David, and Joseph Lanyon.
