ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John Stormer is, like most young Americans who grew
up during the Depression, the product of a conservative
home and a liberal education. In the late 1950’s he gradually came to realize that the political candidates and
philosophies he was asked to support in the voting booth
did not reflect the standards and principles he tried to
apply in his business and personal life.
He started an intensive study of communism about
four years ago, and since then has lectured on college
campuses, addressed hundreds of church, civic, political
and service organizations, and appeared frequently on
radio and television programs.
A frequent visitor to Washington, D. C., he has been
a regular participant in conferences and meetings on the
inroads made by communism and socialism in America.
In 1962, he left a successful career as editor and general manager of a leading electrical magazine to devote
full time to conservative anti-communist activities. He
is chaimlan of the Missouri Federation of Young Republicans and a member of the Republican State Committee of Missouri.
A native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, he attended the
Pennsylvania State University and graduated from California’s San Jose State College in 1954 after Korean War
service as an Air Force historian.
He is a member of Sigma Delta Chi, the professional
journalism society, attends a fundamental Christian
Church, and has received awards for anti-communism
educational activities from Rotary, the Knights of Columbus, and other civic groups.
