David began TaeKwondDo in Manchester. In answer to prayer, we found a Christian 5th degree Black belt Instructor leading an informal school at a local church. His purpose was to ultimately begin his own school, and to base it on Christian principles.

An initial name for the school is Hannah Nim, the Korean name for "One God," but it is still in its infant stages. It is a great environment where the Bible is integrally practiced in all instruction there. If you live in the Hartford, CT vicinity, send an email to spmcd304 at his gmail address. You'll get a speedy reply.

The school was a satellite of this school until early this year. David has since become associated with both schools.

Tae Kwon Do - ages 8 to adult

The Tae Kwon Do programs at Healthkick Inspired Fitness are sanctioned by the United States Chung Do Kwan Association (USCDKA), Chung-Do Black Belt Academy, and under the World Tae Kwon Do Federation

TAE refers to the kicking in the vulnerable areas of an assailant;
KWON refers to striking with the hand into vulnerable areas of an assailant; DO refers to “the way,” a method through which one can find self-confidence and “peace of mind.”

Tae Kwon Do is an ancient Korean form of marital art and an Olympic sport. It is also regarded as the world's most popular martial art in terms of number of practitioners. It utilizes your bare hands and feet as self-defense weapons against unwanted assaults. It has been found that through discipline, it improves one’s confidence, courage, assertiveness, physical conditioning and flexibility.

Ancient Definition
A form of martial arts that dates back to 37 years before the birth of Christ, using the bare hands and feet as weapons against enemies, with emphasis on kicking techniques. A forerunner of modern-day Korean Karate.

Modern-Day Definition
After 2000 years of research, beginning with the warriors of ancient orient (Korea); passed down from father to son; from master to Korean student; from Korean Master to American student; from American Master to American student. All practitioners have found ways to improve and apply many benefits of becoming proficient in one of the world's most effective forms of hand and foot fighting, and at the same time, have discovered many ways to improve one's character, self-confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness.

As a World Sport
Through the formation of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), founded in 1973, World Masters have created a unique competitive sport with a surprisingly limited incidence of bodily injury. Protective body armor, such as chest protectors and groin protectors, plus strict rules, have made the world’s most powerful and effective martial arts into a “modern-day gladiator’s sports spectacular event.” One must witness a World Championship event in order to experience the impact not experienced by any other body contact sport.
