MARY DAVIS EMAIL REPORT

Dec 15, 2024 Email. (Post her mini stroke symptoms.)

Luke 2:11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Dear family and friends, Thank you for prayer and support to our evangelistic work in Haiti. God blessed our evangelistic efforts in November with 137 decisions for Christ and some new church teams that joined us as we provided them with gospel tracts. We continued in prison ministry with gifts of food and toiletries before my return to Florida for some recovery time after a stroke mid-November. I praise the Lord for a safe trip back although very challenging. I pray for my return to Haiti with others who feel led to join the work. We hope to open a small radio station to broadcast an appeal for people to be saved, live the Christian life and win others to the kingdom of God as Christ gave us commission to do, to tell that the Savior of the world has come whose birth we celebrate at this time.

John 4:29, 39-42 "After the witness of the Samaritan woman at the well, when she met Jesus and told the men of the city, Come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: Is this not the Christ?
Many believed. They sought and asked Jesus to tarry with them. Jesus abode with them 2 days. Many more believed because of His own word, They said, WE have heard Him ourselves, and know that this indeed is the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
And if we believe and know that Christ, the Saviour of the world has come, should we not tell others, that they could too know of the Saviour of the world and be saved from the penalty of their sins on the judgment day? and experience His grace in this life according to His perfect will? Our God is calling us back to right relationship with Himself and His righteousness in all areas of our lives. Will we yield to His call? Merry Christmas.

Email report as of 11/22/24

"Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise with psalms. Psalm 95:2

==The more serious situation a person is in, the more thankful we are for every blessing we know comes from our Lord God. And that is certainly true here in Haiti
We praise the Lord for means to survive here and continue in ministry to bring more people to Him for His glory. I am thankful for Evangelism Team and Prison Ministry Team God has developed here.
We thank the Lord for Agape Flight Ministry and their provision of a Thanksgving meal they provided.

*I Just turned 78 and am experiencing some further health problems.

*My flight to America for Christmas has been cancelled because of FAA restrictions but I believe God will give me another one.

*My awareness of problems of Haitians is increasing too.

*I praise the Lord that He has a great plan and we just need to be content in the part He gives us in it.

*Please pray for our upcoming Bible conference on the fundamental truths of the Christian faith to be held on the Lasavan Beach Nov 30. It will conclude with the message I am attaching today [to be attached, but not as yet - Br. Pat ;-)].

This message teaches the basis of success in America was their faith in God and practice of it. This truth could be realized in America again or any other country including Haiti.

God has given America another chance. Will they see it or lose it?

Our prison ministry continues. They have many needs we try to help with including some needing medical attention.
One man was deported from America and does not know why he was put in the prison. He now suffers with an extended stomach.
On Nov 15, we were blessed to see 26 prisoners baptized upon faith in Jesus Christ and hear 4 of their testimonies.
This was through Haiti Prison Ministry. We pray more churches would participate because Jesus said when we visit the prisoner, we did it unto Him.

Ps 112
v1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that fears the Lord, that delights greatly in His commandments.
v2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
v7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
v9 He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His strength shall be exalted with honor."
Thank you for prayers. Mary

(*=prayer points!) Nov 1 report (Update)

"Call unto Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not." Jer 33:3

Together we can praise the Lord for all answers to prayer for our country and His work around this globe.
Active in evangelism,
*we have seen 61 decisions in October for the Lord,
*structuring and discipleship conference of the New Assembly of the Redeemed of Jesus Christ Church in Gracette (part of Torbeck) with Pastor Omane,
*a trip along the coast to assist a church in Chardoniere in evangelism (5 decisions) as well as taking Gospel tracts to churches in Coteaux, Port-a-Piment, Chardoniere and Les Anglais for evangelism.
We appreciate prayers for
*the annual evangelism in Les Cayes Nov 1 & 2 and 18.
We pray many hearts will be turned to God during that time.
In regard to
*ministry in Les Cayes Prison, it has been difficult but not too difficult for God. Food sent for prisoners was stolen by Port-au-Prince gangs and no food orders have been authorized. It has been necessary to contribute food each week for the 800 prisoners as we go in to share Scripture and pray for them. We now have 2 teams to witness to them in 17 cells. Then [last time we visited] *they all needed soap and toothpaste and many needed toothbrushes. Again we did what we could. *Many needed sandals, shirts and shorts we were not able to provide. When we are out on evangelism, *released prisoners run up and thank us for praying for them while they were in prison.. PTL.
Good news: There is to be *a prison baptism on Nov 15.

Thank you for prayers for a safe return back to Haiti. God answered those prayers and I thank Him.
I was glad to see many of you this summer. That is another answer to prayer. You are in my prayers too. May God richly bless you all.
After I arrived, Thursday evening, I learned part of the roof had fallen in on 3 cells before I joined in our Friday prison ministry of bible message, requests and prayer. Many told us how hungry they were and we found out later that the authorization to acquire food from Port-au-Prince did not come through, and there was again no food to feed the prisoners. Some cell leaders have requested hymn books which shows the importance of their worship of God. I contributed what I had to buy bags of rice. Very few have family to support them. I wanted to address this with Judge AuJour, who when he returns intends to process the release of those that are in prison for lesser crimes. Please pray for the people in Haiti without food and the end of the gang violence on the people of Haiti.

The good news is the continued evangelism team with 36 decisions in the LaSavann area of Les Cayes and 3 additional decisions in the prison in the month of September. We know we must be active in evangelism while we have time. Enclosed is a photo of our growing evangelism team.

Psalm 72:11 "Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him: all nations shall serve Him,
v-12 For He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that has no helper.
v-13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.[Amen and Amen.]
v-14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in His sight.

v-17 His name shall endure for ever: His name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed;
v-18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
v-19 And blessed be His glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with His glory!

Her September 8 TBC Report (~9Minutes)
Thank you Pastor Rowley and members of Truth Baptist Church

For the opportunity to tell about what God is doing through the hardship of the people of Haiti in the midst of ongoing violence and corruption.

I thank the Lord for introducing me to the people of Haiti and developing in me a compassion for them. You might say, “What can I do?” ‘Nothing” Jn 15:5 “..He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.”

The key to ministry is to be yielded to our sovereign God and to be yielded to His perfect will, His way, which is what I seek.

What do I do in Haiti?

1. Evangelism

After 2 short-term mission trips to SW Haiti, Haitian Pastor Prince invited me to assist in evangelism in Haiti. Here is a map of our ministry area: inner community of Houck, Torbeck area and city of Les Cayes. Pastor Prince provides transportation & direction and translates for me to share the gospel: door to door, hut to hut or on the street; and later to give seminars encouraging evangelism, provide gospel tracts and Bibles, and then providing crusades. A crusade went on this past week in Torbeck for a group of new converts who want Pastor Prince to plant a church there, his third church.

2. Haiti: Evangelism in Action

It is our name and our website which needs up-to-date management.

We have been blessed as God adds to our evangelistic team. Prayerfully, this is a ministry that requires forward vision for a young couple or single men who have the conviction of God to carry on this evan-gelistic ministry in a difficult place with a Haitian team.

3. Evangelism in Les Cayes Prison

Haiti Evangelism in Action Team has started to share the Gospel in the Les Cayes Prison of 850 prisoners in 19 cells. The cells are under cover in a horseshoe shape. We walk out in the sun to each one.

We saw the destitute conditions in which the prisoners are kept: Many sharing 1 bed in shifts, primitive toileting conditions and only 1 meal a day unless they had family to bring them food, toiletries or clothes. They beg us for food. Haiti prisons are some of the worst on earth.

In February when there was no government in Haiti, there was no process in place to provide food to feed the prisoners: Some of these had made decisions for Christ. There are 30 teenagers and 30 women. There. Inspector Simplus, in charge of operations told us, he didn’t know what to do! We prayed with him. How could I turn my back to this needy situation that God showed me? We alerted other missionar-ies and everyone I knew. I received some contributions from US and contributed myself. German missionaries, Johannes and Luise Scherer received contributions from Germany and contributed, as well as others. We brought in the contributions and prayed it would get them through each week. When I was very low in resources first of June, then I prayed, “Please Lord, let the new government take their responsibility to feed the prisoners.”… and they did that week. Now I was free to go home

We had met Judge Au/jour, who is over 6 areas & courts of SW Haiti & we have been invited to work with him to make things better/fair in the prisons. Lord willing, we hope to provide a mission, a place where the prisoners can go temporarily, when they get out of prison, for a place to sleep, for a meal, disc-ipleship and skill training, that, one day they might become respectable Christians in the community.

My email for updates is mary4haiti@gmail.com.

Thank you Patrick Lanyon for assistance in preparing this presentation.

God's Message: What do we want to tell the next generation?

Thank you friends and family for prayers and contributions for Haiti. As I have been in the USA, Pastor Prince continues to minister and lead participation in evangelism in SW Haiti. He just finished a crusade with 11 decisions and some of those people, without a church in their area, have asked him to plant a church for them in their area of Torbeck and hold another crusade there. This would be his third church.

He also continues with the prison ministry with Evangelist Pastor Gerald Carisme. Some generous person gave each prisoner 200 goude and he helped them obtain soap & toothpaste and had prayer with them. Enclosed is a kind reference to the prison ministry from Agape Flightline. If you would like to help make the after prison mission a realty, please contact me through this email. We can make a difference and help the prisoners become God-abiding believers.

Or maybe, God would touch your heart to help Pastor Prince build the new church inside the Torbeck area. Another ongoing project we are praying for is Judge AuJour's school near Camp-Perrin to train young people to live right, to respect God first, ohers, then themselves as future leaders of Haiti. God is working in the lives of these poorest of people and we can be part of that work by presence or prayer.
James 2:5 "Hearken. my beloved brethren. Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to them that love Him."

1.Enclosed is God's message: What do we want to tell the next generation?.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for the people of Haiti.

==
Redeeming the time: "That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health (salvation) among all nations." Ps 67:2
==
Haiti: Evangelism in Action had no interest in prison ministry until God opened our eyes with the reality of prisoners in the prison, last year when Pastor Prince and the Church of the Assembly of the Redeemed of Jesus Christ in KaHouck prepared a meal for the 850 prisoners in 19 cells at Les Cayes Prison. Then they asked for soap so we prepared a gift bag for each one with soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo & a gospel tract. When we distributed them, we saw the destitute conditions the prisoners lived under and we knew we could not just walk away and act like we didn't know. They were supposed to get one afternoon meal a day. Those who were fortunate enough to have family nearby received another meal, but the rest, (some just skin & bone) told us they were hungry. We can not take pictures inside the prison but it was told well in Youtube: Prisons From Hell:Haiti; Madagascar.
This year we have visited the prisoners cell by cell sharing the gospel. We pray for their needs and contribute when we can. When they saw we could not help with medical needs or money for personal needs or more food, they asked for bibles. So by contributions by the grace of God, we put a bible in every cell. When possible we have tried to meet other needs such as lights for dark cells, more soap supply, toothpaste, sandals. We thank Agape Flights for contributions they have given for the prisoners from donations of items they receive.
Another problem is people being held in prison for months or years, without having seen a judge to have their case heard. A person could die in the prison for stealing a telephone or in 'innocence'.
Since March this year, with no government in Haiti, there were no funds available to provide any food for the prisoners. We prayed with the 2nd in command (christian), Inspector Simplus for God to meet the need and God's guidance as he was responsible to provide the food for the prisoners. God did provide. We contacted everyone we knew about this need and thank you for your response in prayer or contributions. Missionaries contributed food to stretch to minimal food portions for each one each day through June. We prayed for the new government to be able to take their responsibility to provide food and our prayer was answered. There is still the need for charcoal or wood or propane and spices to cook with daily, and personal items the prisoners need and we continue to make contributions. Please pray with us that medical & eye care needs could be met. There is also the need for small personal English testaments with psalms for some who speak & read English.
" Most important", we told them, "is to be right with God. He is the only one who can help you. And according to the Bible, there's only one way to be right with God."
"Each person must realize that we, each one of us, being dead spiritually, have sinned, in that we have broken the Ten Commandments of a holy, perfectly righteous God who is just and must punish our sin on an appointed Judgment Day, eternal death in torment or the lake of fire. It is a serious consequence of sin against a righteous God. Nothing we could do to escape this day! But praise God, our God in love extended His mercy towards us when He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ to suffer, shed His own sinless blood and die on the cross to pay all our penalty for sin. Then God won the victory over death when He raised Jesus back to life on that Easter Sunday morning! Praise the Lord! We prayerfully encourage each prisoner To come in 'repentance of sin toward God' and to call in 'faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ' to save him. (Acts 20:21). And on that Judgment Day, the righteousness of the One who paid the price for our sin would count for us. He says, "It is finished" (John 19:30). We are saved from the penalty of sin as we come to Him as our Lord and Savior by our faith in Who He is & what He has done to atone for our sin. "..Behold all things are become new" (2Cor 5:17).
With more volunteers, we hope to establish more time in bible lessons with them.
Ps 142:7 "Bring my soul out of prison; that I may praise Your name:
the righteous shall surround me; for You shall deal bountifully with Me."
26/7/24 Prison Ministry update: Pastor Wilfrid Prince and myself were privileged to be invited to join Commissioner/ Judge Jean Luc Aujour, a Christian, who oversees six districts and their prisons in SW Haiti. He represents the new government team in these 6 jurisdictions: Les Cayes, Nippes, Aquin, Jeremie-Grande Anse, Miragane and Coteaux. They want us to partner with them in efforts of faith to improve conditions in Haitian prisons and in the lives of prisoners. Efforts are in place to release prisoners of lesser crimes to reduce overcrowding. and all cases to be heard. They are building a new school and church (later) near Camp-Perrin to train young people to live right, to respect God first, others, then themselves as future leaders in Haiti. Les Cayes Prison needs much repair or replacement. This week part of the roof fell in on prisoners. We look to the leading of God in regard to offering a Chrstian temporary place prisoners could come upon release if they have nowhere to go: a place to sleep, a meal, discipleship and skill training in their new life in Christ. "And you has He made alive (spiritually) who were dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph 2:1). We pray God's guidance in encouraging evangelism to reach more people for the Lord, and then as Christians that we work together for a better Haiti to the glory of God.

=="Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them: because Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world."

I thank you for your prayers and concern for us (Haiti: Evangelism in Action) and Haiti. And I thank all who have made contributions to help the Haitian people to get through the crisis of no government to the establishment of a new temporary governing team, to get through the shortage of and higher prices for food, supplies and gasoline and especially for the people in the prison with no food except by contributions. Along with efforts of other missionaries, on fridays, we contribute food, visit, share the gospel & pray with the 870 prisoners in the Les Cayes prison.
Praise the Lord: The new Governing Team, this week has set up a process for prison management to purchase food to feed the prisoners one meal a day.
==
We have been so saddened for Port-au-Prince, where the Haitian people, churches and families are being displaced from their homes, some victims of rape, kidnapping and killing, as the gangs continue taking over Port-au-Prince in their reign of violence.
We praise the Lord that promised help of 1000 police/soldiers have arrived, We pray for God to bring a good result for Haitian people.
Praise the Lord, people can live in the rest of the country, with fairly normal, orderly lives while struggling to survive.
==Every year, in June-July, many churches including Pastor Prince's Church conduct 40 days in worship and prayer with visiting pastors and worship teams and this continues even in the crisis of the country. The people even come early to the services. They are pleading with God for His mercy on them. Also, we continue in evangelism 2-3 days a week. We were blessed to see 76 decisions in May with 4 teams participating.
==The prisoners still have needs which they have shared with us. We have distributed solar lights from a contribution by Agape Flights, where needed. Now we see the need for toothpaste, shampoo, and sandals (200-400 pair), wood and charcoal for cooking as well as ongoing need for medications and justice in the court. Many need to see an eye doctor as they request glasses. Our God has supplied so far and we trust Him to continue to do so. God has put a burden in our heart to set up a Christian place they could go when they come out of prison if they have no place to go, a place to sleep, get a meal, continue Bible lessons and learn a skill. If this is the will of God, we know He will make it a reality.
Please pray for ongoing crusades set up by Pastor Prince: Cavaillon with Pastor Evans June 9-14 (finished with 7 decisions) (On evangelism in this city,
7 more people at one house professing Catholicism prayed to accept Christ);
Charlotte June 28-30,
Port Salut July 14-16, and
the postponed Les Cayes crusade to be rescheduled.
The second training in Encouraging Evangelism with La Savonn leaders (poor part of Les Cayes) is scheduled for July 1.
==
From studies in The Evidence Study Bible to understand and defend the faith I have enclosed 2 messages. Please read and tell me what you think. After twenty years in fair ministry evangelism and coming to Haiti at the request of Pastor Prince to help with evangelism in Haiti,10 years ago, and desiring to do the work of God sincerely, I prayed that if I was not presenting the gospel correctly, God would show me because we must do His work His way, not our own way. I believe God has been working in My life to answer that prayer while I was here in Haiti. God is with us as we submit ourselves to Him. Amen.
==
To Americans, I pray with you for revival in America.
To Haitians, I pray with you for great revival and victory over voodoo & poverty. Other countries as well. May God bless each one.
Seeking His will,
Mary

email update for 4/27/2024, Saturday
=="Redeeming the Time because the days are evil." Eph 5:16

Dear friends and family,
How are you? I pray you are fine and blessed in the Lord.

Thank you for prayers for Haiti. I continue to pray for God's will in Haiti. I pray that would include stopping the violence in Port-au-Prince where they destroy people's homes, livelihood, hospitals, schools as well as rape, kidnap and kill these dear people whom God loves, Jesus died for and Holy Spirit would comfort, guide, and bring under conviction to be right with Him.
Praise the Lord, though difficult, we survive in other parts of Haiti. A destitute family of five came to live at the same house where I live. Hard situations just to survive have become harder. A mother of two was killed in Port-Au-Prince a couple of weeks ago. The two children were sent to a family of five in Les Cayes.

The prison of 850 detainees here in Les Cayes continues to need contributions of food. Some are dying of TB and lack of food. We contribute and try to visit every Friday to share hope of the Gospel and pray with them. We believe many are turning to the Lord in their dilemma. We encourage them to be right with God through faith in Jesus Christ, so that if they die, they would be with Him in His eternal heavenly place.
We have given hundreds of Gospel tracts and John and Romans We could not visit this Friday because the employees were protesting not being paid for many months. Supposedly, we can get back in next Friday.
So instead we had a meeting to discuss future prison ministry. The inmates have listened intently and requested Bibles. I propose to put a Haitian Creole Bible in each of the 19 cells at a total cost of $400.00. We are going to work on a budget for all 15 prisons in Haiti. One at a time as the Lord leads and Blesses.

And God has blessed with a partnership with Pastor Chavannas Jeune, former MEBSH president, former LIPAS president and founder of World Missionary Vision and also Global Mission of the Kingdom including 416 missions in Haiti and 27 countries. He has a heart for a prison ministry for all fifteen prisons in Haiti. Yes Praise the Lord.
If anyone wants to see what prison is like in Haiti Youtube has a documentary you could watch called Prisons from Hell: Haiti & Madagascar. I said at a meeting of Global Mission of the Kingdom, "If Haiti has the worst prisons in the world, we ought to try and do something about it."

So, we are still very involved in evangelism other than evangelism in the prison with at least 80 decisions there. In door to door and on the street we have distributed tracts and John and Romans and seen over 50 decisions this year, have distributed tracts for other churches to use in their evangelism and conducted seminars encouraging evangelism as God opens opportunities for us. We see that the situation in Haiti would not slow down God's work but inspire more.
Thank you for prayers, gospel materials and bibles to distribute. May God bless us each, every one, Amen.

Enclosed is message from the Bible to inspire us and leaders of our country.
=====
“Not by Might, Not by Power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts” Zechariah 4:6
How the ruler of a nation leads that nation makes all the difference in the outcome for that nation.
Here we look at the heart of two kings which determined how they led their nation & their outcomes.
2Ki 17:1 “In the twelfth year of Ahaz, king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned nine years. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD..” In v-7-8 "For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and they had feared other gods & walked in the statutes of the nations whom the LORD had cast out from before them.” In v-12 “For they served idols, of which the LORD had said to them, “You shall not do this thing.” In v-23 “..So Israel was carried away from their own land to Assyria, as it is to this day.”
In 2Ki 18:1-3. “Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign. He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father David had done.” v-4 “He removed the high places.” In v-5 “He trusted in the LORD God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor were there before him.” v-7 “The LORD was with him; he prospered wherever he went.”
In v-13, In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them. Hezekiah gave him of the treasuries of the king’s house and stripped the gold from the doors and pillars of the LORD’s house. Even so, the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem.
In 2Ki 18:19 Rabshakeh said, “Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, ‘What confidence Is this wherein you trust?’” v-32 “..Hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuades you saying, ‘The LORD will deliver you.’” v-35 “Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?”
In 2Ki 19:1, 6-7 “And it came to pass when King Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the LORD. He sent Eliakim, who was over the
household, Shebna the scribe & the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth to Isaiah the Prophet, who brought word from the Lord, “Be not afraid of the words which thou has heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. Behold, I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; And I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”
When the king of Assyria sent messengers with a threatening letter to King Hezekiah, v-14 Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD and prayed. v-19 “...‘Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech Thee, save Thou us, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art the LORD God, even Thou only.’” v-34-35 The LORD answered “‘For I will defend this city to save it, for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’ And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000..”
At that time, we saw King Hoshea of Israel who led Israel in evil in the sight of the LORD taken in captivity by Assyria. We also saw Hezekiah, king of Judah lead the nation of Judah in what was right in the eyes of the Lord. also besieged by the king of Assyria, go in prayer and was delivered by God.
Proverb 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach (shame) to any people.”
In 2Ki 17:35-39 For God had said to Israel, “With whom the LORD had made a covenant & charged them saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them.
But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, Him shall ye fear, and Him shall ye worship, and to Him shall ye do sacrifice.
And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which He wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods. And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
The LORD your God ye shall fear; and He shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
==
This was a promise to Israel. But now, believers whether Jew or Gentile are made “one,” in the body of Christ. Eph 2:16 “And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body, by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.” with Christ as the head of the body, that is the Church (Col 1:18).
Gal 3:29 “And if ye be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” God’s promises of blessing are for all people whose heart is right with Him; people who have found Christ as Savior and live by a reverential fear in Him.
It doesn’t matter how much might or power that a leader of a nation or any person has. It is the spirit of his heart that matters to God.
1Sam 16:7 “..for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.
Ps 34:18 “The LORD is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit (humble).”
James 4:6 “But He gives more grace. Wherefore He says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.”
1Pet 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”
==“A person fully confident that he is able to do God’s work is often the one that fails to submit to God. It is the humble servant, fully dependent upon God, who succeeds.” Charles Stanley
Jude 20-23 “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
==[Witness the Gospel as you live pleasing to God] “And of some have compassion, making a difference:
And others save with fear” [To the unsaved: Have they kept the Ten Commandments? If not, there is a penalty of eternal death.] pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted (defiled) by the flesh.”
==“Preach with this object, that men may quit their sins and fly to Christ for pardon, that by His blessed Spirit they may be renovated and become as much in love with everything that is holy as they are now in love with everything that is sinful.” Charles Spurgeon
God says about one whose heart is right with Him:
Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he has set his love upon Me,
therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high,
because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

Why did Jesus have to die?

Can you imagine the disciples sadly celebrating their Passover that Saturday evening? They had had such hope for the future even in the midst of misery and uncertainty, the results of sin for all time through all ages. Is it any different now? Trama? Conflict? Violence? Divisions?
But Jesus had given so much hope. John 1:23 John the Baptist prepared the way. "He said, 'I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the LORD', as said the prophet Isaiah."
In John 1:29, when John the Baptist saw Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, He said, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
In John 1:45 As Jesus was calling to Himself the first disciples, Philip found Nathanael and had said to him, "We have found Him, of whom Moses in the law, and prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. v-48 Nathanael saith unto Him [Jesus], 'How knowest Thou me?' Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Before that Philip called thee, when thou was under the fig tree, I saw thee.' v-49 Nathanael answered and said unto Him, 'Rabbi,Thou art the Son of God; Thou art the King of Israel.'"
In John 3:17 "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. v-19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
In John 4:24 Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman, "God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth. v-25 The woman said unto Him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when He is come, He will tell us all things. v-26 Jesus said unto her, I that speak unto you am He."
In John 6:48 Jesus said, 'I am the bread of life.'" Afterward many disciples were turning from Jesus and in v-67 "Then said Jesus unto the twelve, 'Will ye also go away?' v-68 -69 Then Simon Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.'"
John 8:12 "Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, 'I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.'"
John 10:11 "I am the good Shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep." John 10:30 "I and My Father are One."
In John 11:25, Jesus said to Martha, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: v-26 And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Blievest thou this? v-27 She saith unto Him, Yea Lord: I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world."
In John 12:13 When Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, "[the people] took branches of palm trees, and went forth and cried, 'Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel, that cometh in the name of the Lord." Later in v-23 Jesus said, "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified." v-24 "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." v-46-47 "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. .. I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world."
In John 14:6, Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me."
John 15:5 " I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides with Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without Me you can do nothing."
John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. IN the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
That Saturday evening was one of great grief and despair. What now? Why did Jesus have to die? It was so unfair; so terrible; so devastating.

They didn't understand yet. Why did Jesus have to die? To pay our debt for sin: Eternal death, which separates all mankind from a holy just yet loving God forever.
1Peter3;18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh.."
John 20:31 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name."

Our God answers prayer[s]. We keep our faith in Him now and forever.
Thank you for prayers on behalf of Haiti.
Our Zoom meeting with Prison Fellowship International went fine even though the internet cut out 4 times.
Five members of Haiti: Evangelism in Action were there: Pastor Jean Chery, Pastor Wilfrid Prince, Brother and Mrs. Jacquelin Lessage and myself.
We go on to Phase 2 questions concerning the prison situation in Haiti which is poor.
We are to prayerfully consider and answer those questions.
We continue to contact other churches and missions in southwest Haiti to consider to participate.
Our goal is to bring prisoners to Christ for restoration of themselves & with their families so that they might not be criminals anymore.
This is no easy task in the poorest country in the western hemisphere, but our God is able. Praise the Lord.

Let's not forget to pray for Israel, God's chosen people. Gal 3:26 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
v.29 "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Let's not forget to pray for revival in America. And revival comes from prayer. That is the only hope for America.
Proverb 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Only God can forgive the sin of America if we repent of our sin and sincerely turn back to Him. Only God can turn things around for America in midst of judgment on our national sins of making law what is against the law and God's purpose of love and obedience to Him and love for one another. Money and prosperity is not a god that can save us from "the wrath of God to come".
It was God Himself who turned things around for Judah and Israel in the days of Jeremiah.
Israel had been taken into captivity by Assyria 135 years before Judah fell in the same sins of idolatry and was taken captive to Babylon in 586 BC. In Jeremiah 32:27, God answered Jeremiah's prayer, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me? Jeremiah brought the news that Jerusalem would be destroyed because of the evil of the people, but God would again restore it in v-37-42: "Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God:
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
And I will make an Everlasting Covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me.
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul."

What if we are in the time of the end and America does not repent and turn back to God?
Dr. David Jeremiah gives Christians, "The Church", some direction in His book, The World at the End.
Enclosed is a summary. I pray The Word of God enclosed would be a blessing and comfort as we live our fullest for the pleasure and glory of our loving, holy, just God who has everything under His sovereign care and justice.
Blessings and Comfort in Him, Mary

Charles Spurgeon: "When you are saved, the work is only 1/2 done until you are employed to bring others to Christ."

The protests have stopped for a while and children have returned to school after weeks of turmoil in the country. There does not seem to be any resolution from man's way of dealing with problems. They need to look to God to deliver them and bring food for the hungry, a decent economy and a healing of the land. Thank you for praying with us for God's perfect will for Haiti.

Thank you to all who have made contributions to us including those in memorial of my sister, Christine Lanyon.
What a blessing from God through you who desire to send us regular support to share the gospel in word and deed with the people of Haiti. Thank you. God blessed us more as we learned that another couple from Pastor Prince's church, Brother and Mrs. Altimo, want to join our ministry of "Haiti: Evangelism in Action" and go out on evangelism with us on our Tuesday and Thursday ministry days. Also, by the will of God we are developing a prison ministry for Fridays while we are continuing to confer with Prison Fellowship Ministries to develop a professional prison ministry with them for Haiti. We plan by the grace of God to meet with them in a zoom meeting Thursday morning at 11AM. Please pray that the internet will work for us then.Thank you.
Prov 29:18 "Where there is no vision the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." We have vision for Haiti : 1Tim 2:4 God "who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
Enclosed are ministry photos for this month:
Photo 1&2 Pastor Prince conducts discipleship lesson with those who made decisions; #3 Pastor Prince in discipleship class in reopened Baptist Church of Redon; #4 Discipleship class of Arabe Lyce (request bibles); #5 Pastor Senat gives counsel for a young man who wants to be saved; #6 Ministry vehicle brings gospel tracts from Equipping the Saints and John and Romans in Haitian Creole from Bearing Precious Seed in Milford Oh to Les Cayes, Haiti. And thanks to Missionary Services of Agape flights for contributions including the bicycle that will help in times of need as well as the wedding dress for wedding ministry. God has been so good to us. Praise His holy name. Sister in Christ, Mary

Gen 24:27 "I being in the way, the LORD led me.."
Thank you for prayers for the hungry and poor of Haiti including 850 prisoners in overcrowded conditions in Les Caye Prison and in regard to the turmoil in Haiti.
But for the grace of God do we live like that.

Because of protests all over Haiti, blocking roads to shut down the country, we have not been able to do much.
Yet we can always pray and study God's Word and praise and thank Him for all His goodness to us.
The people are demanding that the prime minister, who apparently does nothing about the economic situation or violence, abdicate by Feb 7.
The people are tired of the way they have to live in this country in anarchy, with no apparent government or security, minimal available gasoline or propane for cooking which they need to make bread to sell. In Port-au-Prince, the capital there has been violence, killing, taking people's homes, kidnapping,
rape of women and highway robbery with weapons and tanks on the only road to Port-au-Prince escalating for over two years and
nobody does anything about it. This causes a shortage of needed supplies and very high prices of what is here.
Gasoline is 1000 goude or $8.00 a gallon. It's an evil scourge on the country. There is much suffering.
There also is much suffering in the prisons.
So I thank you for praying for an opportunity to bring a prison ministry to Haiti.
Dorestela Medina, Senior Regional Director of Prison Fellowship International, Latin America & Caribbean Region,
would like to consider to partner with us, "Haiti: Evangelism in Action" and with our network of pastors
in the southwest Departments of Haiti as a start to a national prisoner restoration prison ministry for Haiti.
We are in the process of answering introductory questions for their consideration.
When Pastor Prince and I visited the prison, we encouraged the 850 prisoners in approximately 16 cells not to give up hope,
but trust in God, to come to God His way, through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
One prisoner started holding a worship service in his cell. I believe God is answering our prayers.
We just need to be a vessel God can work through to bless others.

We pray for the situation in America too and God's sovereign will in our coming election.
Our God is in control! Here are some verses of encouragement:
Daniel 2:20-21 " Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His:
And He changeth the times and the seasons:
He removeth kings and setteth up (raiseth up) kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know (have) understanding."
Daniel 4:3 Nebuchadnezzar, Gentile king of Babylon said of our God: "How great are His signs! and how mighty are His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation."
Psalm 145:13 "Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations."
17 "The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works."
18 "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth."
19 "He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them."
20 "The LORD preserveth all them that love Him: but all the wicked will He destroy."
21 "My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever."
PTL. Your Sister in Christ,
Mary

God opens a new window of ministry.

Greetings family and ministry partners.
I do so thank you for prayers, expressions of sympathy and contributions especially those made in memory of my sister, Christine Lanyon, who passed into eternity Nov 6,2023. I was very blessed to spend Christmas with family in Fort Myers
and Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs, Florida, and then a week with Pat Lanyon family in E Hartford Connecticut and
Truth Baptist Church in S Windsor, whom I praise the Lord for as they care for Pat, David and Joseph in their grief, as they grieve with them for the loss of a faithful servant and sister of the Lord there.
I returned to Les Cayes, Haiti Jan 25,2024.
I'm looking forward to visiting a closed church, reopened by Pastor Prince through evangelism in the area, with over 30 people accepting Christ
in that area and starting a discipleship class for them on Sunday.
We are continuing evangelism on Tuesday and Thursday and continuing to provide Encouraging Evangelism seminars, crusades, tracts, and
Bibles as well as setting up a regular day for prison ministry.
In the past we reported dire need in Les Cay prison of 850 people crowded in approximately 16-20 cells.
I felt led to contact Prison Fellowship for guidance and help.
This is the response:

Dear Christian friends,
My name is Mary Davis. I am from Mansfield Baptist Temple in Mansfield Ohio. After I went on a short term mission trip toTorbeck area SW of Les Cayes in South department of Haiti in 2013 & 2014, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, I was invited by a Haitian pastor-translator, Pastor Wilfrid Prince to continue to be involved in evangelism in Haiti. I prayed and said, "If God could use me here I was willing to come." Since June 4th 2014, we have since been involved in sharing the gospel, encouraging churches to have evangelism programs & ministering in crusades. As much as possible we have helped provide gospel tracts and bibles. We have seen over 5000 decisions in this time.

This past summer, Pastor Prince led his church, Assembly of Redeemed of Jesus Christ, in KaHouck in a ministry to feed the prisoners in the Les Cayes prison of 850 prisoners one time from a contribution from friends in America. They prepared the food and served it. We were not allowed to take pictures inside. But we saw the 850 prisoners crowded into approximately 16 hot cells. They rarely got food unless relatives provided the food or spent money for it. We found out they needed soap for bathing. Again we provided soap, toothpaste & brush and shampoo with gospel tract to all prisoners one time. If they need medical attention, they can see a nurse, but cannot have it until they can pay for it.
We are most involved in evangelism and saw some decisions there for Christ as we gave the gospel to every cell. However, even though we are not able to carry on a full prison ministry there, how could we just walk away? So I am looking for an ongoing prison ministry in Haiti, particularly in Les Cayes and advice on what to do in this dire situation. I have letters from 75 prisoners asking for help. Thank you for your consideration and direction as the Lord leads. Mary Davis In states through Jan 24 at 239-291-8362. Lord willing, the plan is to return to Haiti Jan 25th. Thank you.
