Principle #1 ADORATION for ATTRIBUTES

WHO HE IS

Preview of The Attributes

The prayer notebook thus begins with the attributes of God. The first three are:

God is 1)Infinite (endless) 2)Eternal (timeless, enduring) and 3)Immutable (changeless)

1)Infinite (endless) Because we are made in His Image, though we are none of these three, the character of God manifests Himself through us.

His infinity creates an influence, and Our existence creates an influence. The application of His attribute of infinity is our duty to be influential more than we originally began to be. "Be fruitful, multiply and replenish..." is His command. (It was given To Adam and Eve, To Noah, To Ishmael, To Jacob, again to Joseph at the death of Jacob, and finally to all Israel)

Genesis 1:22, 28 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (God to Adam & Eve)

Genesis 8:17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. (God to Noah for all the Animals on the Ark)

Genesis 9:1, 7 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. (God to Noah & his Sons)

Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. (God to Abraham for Ishmael)

Genesis 28:3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; (Isaac to Jacob)

Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; (God to Jacob)

Genesis 48:4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. (Jacob to Joseph)

Leviticus 26:9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. (God to all Israel in the Law)

His eternity creates a purpose for living, and an urgency of life. Though He has no end or beginning of his being, He calls us to be "redeeming the time for the days are evil." - Eph 5:16; Col 4:5

His immutability creates consistency that we rely on each morning as the sun rises, each spring when the earth renews itself, and each event of the heavens which astronomers predict with astounding accuracy. We are commanded not to change, and to be unmoveable, and resolved to continue in the ways He sets for us to go.

Psalms 44:18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

Psalms 78:9 The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

Psalms 78:41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

Psalms 78:57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

Proverbs 24:21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change.

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
