The children of Thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before Thee. Psalm 102:25-28 The New Year 2000 marks great opportunity for all of us. We pray it will be full of God’s grace and wisdom for you. Another Year of Blessing We just had revival services a month ago. It was a blessing when Joseph asked me to sing "Have Thy Own Way Lord," as we drove in the car. Our church building project is greatly progressing. Our church people are doing all the work. We have a few builders in the church. The roof is finished, which is a blessing with winter around the corner. We have many new people in church. We are trying to make them feel at home with us as a church. Home Improvements We have put a new ceiling up in our bathroom. Pat put up sheetrock and Chris taped and painted. We have a pleasant bedroom upstairs for guests. We have had the privilege of several guests this year. Welcome Friends We are thankful to have the blessing of seeing and visiting our beloved friends and relatives. Our hearts were greatly blessed to have Ralph and Janet Burchell stay with us. Janet is a dear friend of Christine’s from college days and has served in Japan since then. Their three teenage children had a wonderful Christ-like spirit. Besides several church friends, we have had the great honor of seeing Pastor & Mrs. Art Zacher & Family. He helped me when Truth Baptist Church was planted in 1980, and now is taking a new pastorate in California. Also in July we were glad to have two young men from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, Sam Wolkowicz and Dan Phyillaico. They were a blessing to visit with. They encouraged our church as we see a good group of young people being raised up for leadership in America. Missionary Scott Brackett visited us while here on furlough from Argentina. He has been on the field now for 19 years and has a family of 7! The Bahamian family Wesley & Janet Ferguson with her sister Michelle Miller came to visit on a US shopping trip which they take every year to Florida. We were very encouraged to have them come this far by bus and stay in our home for a few days. Family Smiles David David is continuing his Bible reading, a chapter every morning, and every evening. He is nearly done with Ezekiel. He is in our church’s Joyful Singers of Truth, a children’s choir that sings once a month in services. It doesn’t seem possible that he is now in the fifth grade. He is doing well with studies. He is quite the engineer. The many things he’s built with Lego™ building blocks demonstrate a very active mind with great detail orientation. David also likes his archery set, given by a close church family to us. Joseph Joseph likes to be outside so that he can find bugs and worms. He often finds a nice leaf or bug that he wants us to save for "David’s Science class." Joseph is reading now and loves his books.
GLORY Carpet I have spent time getting our business on the internet so that our customers can get more information about our company and about cleaning carpets & furniture. Much information is available, and we want to also use it to witness for the Lord. I have put a personal-pages link on the first page. Also, since getting online, I have received many new work orders through a Florida company that applies Scotchguard™ to new furniture sales in various local stores. We have done over 70 work orders this year. When there is interest, I gladly share the gospel with these customers all over the state. This is another way I use the web page on the internet. Pat I remain busy being the church clerk, deacon, song leader, and church building cleaning coordinator which also includes being the carpet cleaner. We enjoy our once a month rest home service too. Christine Christine has been working on packages for Ethan and Kim Champlin as their home burned down in Surinam. God has supplied maternity dresses, little girl’s dresses, material, patterns, and books. Chris teaches Sunday school, goes on visitation, does the church calendar, and cleans the church when it is our turn. Home schooling takes up most of each day. We thank God for your work for Him. We pray that God will protect and strengthen you. He truly is our strength and hope.
