Dear Beloved Family and Friends,

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord." II Peter 1:2

God's goodness to our family

We are rejoicing in God's goodness to our family. He continues to supply our needs. We stand in awe at God's grace and help to us. We have just made our last mortgage payment ! This has been a concern on our hearts as we have seen our health go down. Pat hurt his back from lifting the heavy buffer machine. He was in bed for a week. Age has slowed us down, but God helps us to keep moving. Pat still has sleep problems. Chris has arthritis, but you can't tell it the way she stays busy.

We are grateful for our home

We are grateful to have upgraded the electrical service for our home; though it meant a lot of sheet-rock patching by us. The improvement in electrical service will mean new lights and more outlets where they are needed most. After the "fix-up" work, Chris put up new wall paper in our bedroom and hall. She painted the office. The paper in the hallway was purchased in Ohio at a warehouse for only $10 for a double roll. Chris is still thanking God for the "most beautiful " paper she has ever seen.

Family Features

David is learning the new ropes of 7th grade and new experiences of Junior High school life. He is really in a great school and the whole program is tailored to get kids really ready for life and for college. His class visited Gillette Castle here in Connecticut. The class also enjoyed the zoo in New York. David did a science project on color-fading. Surprisingly enough even Dad's carpet cleaning magazine articles came in handy. Two or three articles on carpet dying helped us understand more why color-fade occurs in carpet as well as in construction paper.

Joseph has gone on some interesting field trips to historical homes. Both of the teachers are really excellent and bend over backwards to help students with any special needs either has. Joseph still loves to find bugs, walk through mud puddles, and lay in the snow to make angels.

Christine is a great and continual blessing to our family. She is always making herself available for whatever is really needed. If it is organizing the banquets at church, quick-substituting for the nursery, making cards and remembering special needs with calls and letters or helping a little more doing the carpet cleaning work which is helping us both to run our business better.

Our Business

It has always been our desire to use our business for God's glory, and we called it Glory with 1 Corinthians 10:31 in mind.

God has used our business to be a witness for His saving grace to every man. Pat is always carrying printed copies of the "Believing" track written in 1996. Often when doing a job in a home or a claim we are sent on by furniture protection companies, definite opportunities arise to witness. We would also like to use our company to be a spiritual impact on offices because dedicated employees with a genuine love for God wish to tell of His saving grace and enduring strength to live out life's trials with trust.

Our Missionary Friends

We sometimes hear of special trials from our missionary friends and relatives. It is cause for our prayers, and sometimes even a call to send special encouragement. Thank you for allowing us to share and bear your burden.

Mom Wise

Mom Wise had a serious knee operation in July, and is recuperating slowly, but is much improved over her disability when the knee did not function hardly at all. We love her greatly and we are glad she is able to enjoy seeing her grandchildren as often as possible. In a trip during August we were able to see Aunt Mary's Fair Ministry in action. She has worked hard and influences over half of Ohio's 80 various fairs from March through late October. We are thrilled to see many local churches get more involved with this evangelism outreach for their ministry.

Our Church

Our Church, Truth Baptist of South Windsor/ East Hartford, continues to grow. The building attached to the older 1990 building is nearing final completion. We have had a duplicate early service at 8:30am now for almost two years, and people are being reached at that service that have never been reached before.

PhotoAerial shot

Recently a funeral of a 94 year old man having been genuinely saved only for months drew over 200 unsaved relatives and friends. All of these were exposed to the gospel through sermon, testimony and personal discussions that day.

Colorado Business & Family Trip

In April, we visited Colorado for a business/ family trip. In addition to attending a symposium with an all-star speaker's roster for the cleaning industry, we visited old friends and long unseen relatives. A family that helped Dad & Mom Lanyon was visited and fond memories recalled. We also visited Pat's sister and families in south western Colorado.

Colorado is in the midst of one of the worst droughts in a generation. The fire in early June there was cause for thankfulness for God's protective care. Pat's sister's land was struck and her trailer was engulfed but the interior was barely affected in the fast and scary blaze that left hundreds homeless in southern Colorado. No one was hurt! We are most thankful for the God-sent deliverance to them.

May God bless and guide you as you go on for Him.

Love in Christ,

From Pat, Chris, David, and Joseph Lanyon.
