Dear Friends and Family,

At Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday time each year our country sets aside special times for family gatherings. For the CT Lanyons, our relatives are far away and we are honored for others who share their family with our family. Yet we are reminded of how special far away friends are. Thanks for keeping in touch, sharing, and most of all praying.

Challenging times are here for a while in our nation, but God’s faithfulness is a reminder of constancy of His grace and blessing. His help to us is "Constantly Abiding" as the song goes.

"I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. 2 For I have said, "Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens." ... 5 ¶ And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints. ... 7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all those around Him. 8 O LORD God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You. ... 15 ¶ Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance. — FROM Ps 89

God’s love and longsuffering are being seen in such amazing ways in these days of peril and upheaval in and all around us. We are so undeserving of all His love and care and we marvel at His great faithfulness. May God Bless you as you serve Him in each of your places of service.

After 21 years of marriage we are grateful to hear encouraging news from Providenciales, in the Turks & Caicos Islands. This was Christine’s last field of ministry and is located north of Haiti. Provo Christian School has grown from one room in the church to three buildings. They have chosen to honor a few people who have unselfishly given of their possessions, time and service. A new building is being dedicated to Pastor Rigby, who started the school. He has passed on to Heaven. We were most humbled to hear that Christine would be included by naming the Library in her honor. This is located on the second story of one building. The downstairs is classrooms and will be named in honor of Gene Davis. He is from North Carolina and has given supplies that the school buildings might be built. Since we’ve been invited to come for a visit, we are making plans to travel there in January, 2010. We are grateful that both of our boys will be able to see the results of a portion of their Mom’s missionary service time there, and we hope to bring as much help from God as we can. We covet your prayers for our travel and wisdom while there. The school is in need of dedicated school personnel to accommodate their growth. They also need a pastor.

This year we have ... said farewell to Br. Bernie Meisler on 12/14/08, served 25 years at Truth Baptist for Pat, (21 for family); worked with Child Evangelism at a fair in OH, and helped paint Grandma Wise’s garage. Pat and the boys ran in the Hartford Half (13.1mi) Marathon. We have given ourselves to help people in church. Joseph repairs bikes for many in church and is a "hands-on" helper to Pastor Harper. David and Dad work on computers for the folks at church and rest homes. We pray God will bless you as we all Look UP as our REDEMPTION draws near!

Love in Christ, Pat, Christine; David & Joseph
