    GRATITUDE ATTITUDE FOR 2011

Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

Thank you for honoring me with your gift, card, posting or comment to me. As most of you know my beautiful wife has probably sent you a birthday card every year since you met her, and she regularly reminds me that I am sending it to you too. Regretfully, I forget that, so I want to tell you now again I mean the same. The two of us are one!

This year I am choosing to have a thankful spirit EVERY DAY in this my 58th year God has graciously given to me to start today December 29.

The scriptures teach us:

1 Thessalonians  5:18

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

And everything is a lot! If you begin each day by recording a log of blessings you're thankful for, we will all truly have joy and praise for life. Praises enthrone our God:

Ps 22:3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.

Please return here this year for some of the gifts I will be sharing with those having a Gratitude Attitude!

I have given many already this, but don't be left out! Today, and only until 12/31/2010 Get 5.5 hours of an audio book reading for free at:

http://christianaudio.com/gift-this-product?pid=7308

It is a link for giving it to someone else, but give yourself one first. Your oratorio lover will  appreciate it as well, and someone might find a personal relationship with 'The Messiah' also!

Happy 2011 to you!

My Thanksgiving log for this year:

12/29/10  Ps 61:5 For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. I have the blessed heritage of past family members who are godly !

12/30/10 Thanking God for His faithfulness to me in my business. He has helped me for over 22 years now.

12/31/10 Ecclesiastes 3:11 ¶  He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Thanking God for His gift to me of TIME. As I get older, I'm reminded of its limits, but it helps me define eternity, which I would have no other concept about otherwise. God has put an ability to BEGIN to understand it by putting 'eternity' in my heart.

1/1/11 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2Co 5:17 Thank God for the supernatural event of Salvation "ONE DAY" (2Cor. 6:2) when He gave the new heart that our own self-reformation was POWERLESS to change our sinful condition.

1/2/11 Sun   Our God is the God of salvation; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.  Ps 68:20 He delivers us for Salvation of Soul through physical deliverances when we could have died or suffered serious injury.
1/3/11   I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Ps 139:14 God makes us with absolute perfection. He is never guilty of unrighteousness, even if He gives us a child with abnormalities, He will cause men and women to praise Him with the end result of His marvelous work.
1/4/11   O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God! Ps 68:35Thanks to God He is greater than the places we chose to worship Him. I like a great building to worship which I have, but it cannot compare to Him!

1/5/11 Thank God for His Protection in many people's travels over many miles!

1/6/11  Thank God for a godly heritage of parents who feared the Lord and brought , not just took me to church!
1/7/11  Thank God for my children who both Love the Lord and want to serve Him.

1/8/11  Thank God for my home, something I never knew I would have (a house I own.)

1/9/11Sun  Thank God for answer to prayer about my son's Martial Arts training. He now has a Martial Arts Christian Black belt Instructor, 4th Degree.

1/10/11  Thank God He uses David. David sang a solo at our Christmas celebration this year with a church family. The song was a strong witness in a family still needing more Christian focus.

1/11/11  Thankful for the God of numbers. Today's unique date illustrates many ways that numbers communicate God's orderliness. Watch this!

1/12/11  Thank God for His wisdom in helping me find my vocation: Cleaning. Ps. 19.9. It is my niche to clean, and it gives me great satisfaction!

1/13/11  Thank God for new things! 24" of snow in CT last night and today. A record of snowfall in 24 hours for CT.

1/14/11  Thank God for strength to be able to clear the snow out of the driveway. Many people having to move this much snow may end up losing their life, as one woman did in New Haven this week died of exposure when she fell and couldn't get up. So sad!

1/15/11  Thank God for help from people who love helping others. A gentleman helped me by installing a brand new engine in my Truck-mounted Van for business over the new year's week.

1/16/11Sun Thank God for our church choir. Both of my sons are in it and are thrilled to sing each week. they sing beautiful pieces every time they sing!

1/17/11  Thank God for my family. All four siblings profess faith in Jesus as Savior and have raised kids that most so far have done the same.

1/18/11  Thank God for my In-laws. They have a great family in Central OHIO. I especially am proud of my sister-in-law who has done some incredible work in the Fair Ministry. At one point having an influence in over half of all the Ohio State Fairs witnessing of Jesus Christ. This is one fair we worked in recently, Morrow County Fair (Mt. Gilead), I believe. Even David enjoyed the experience. We actually set up a laptop with DVDs of the "Torchlighter's" playing great missionary biographies (get 8 for $80.00with this link, 2/17/11). The thumbnail is of a laptop playing "The Jim Elliott Story" We left the set for this church's Fairs use in upcoming years.
Missionaries live some of the most thrilling and satisfying of lives you can live.

My studies since July 20, 1977 have borne this out. Missionaries have been responsible for some seeing entire tribes of people liberated to live the blessed Christian life, if not significant conversions. Mark Zook in Papua New Guinea; Eric Liddell of China; and a host of others: See a lot more at http://www.wholesomewords.org/missions/bioindex.html :

1/19/11  Thank God for an excellent Mother-in Law! Many jokes about about the other kind of mother-in-law's, but mine came right from Heaven!

1/20/11  Thank God for my excellent wife. She is God's gift to me on earth -- Her Hands ( see this poem I wrote back in 2002)

1/21/11  Thank God for Joseph Lanyon, Today he turns 18. He has quite a testimony at our church. I am thankful he is sweet, kind and a social blessing to everyone there!

1/22/11  Thank God for a ministry to nursing Homes. I currently go to two. For 22 years now I have had a service monthly at a large nursing home in East Hartford. And for 6 years next month (February, 2004) I have gone weekly to another in Manchester.

1/23/11 Sun  Thank God for the ability to write. Though I have never written a book or otherwise been an author, I am really grateful for my "Prayer Notebook." I do regret I haven't paid more attention to it since putting it into print in 1980 on a daily basis. But the experience has been life transforming to me especially in the "Life's Choices" Years of my life( 1977-1983).

1/24/11 Thank God for the education I have received. After two years of College at a state university in CO I transferred to Christian schools thereafter: BJU and Temple Baptist Seminary. At BJU I learned to live away from home through the Dormitory experience, but at Tn Temple I saw the grace of God through the life of Dr. Lee Roberson. I met two significant people in my life: Bim Rowley, my current Pastor, and then Christine Wise, my wife!

1/25/11  Thank God for our church's excellent buildings. It was amazing to me to see them both built without our church borrowing any money. They are being used extensively for the Lord's work this year. Each season sports intramurals of Basketball (Spring) and Soccer (Fall) challenge young elementary age kids to be fit and learn to win and lose with self-control. Ladies exercise and study the Bible. Men meet for business and exhortation monthly. College men play basketball weekly. And what about Sundays and Wednesdays

1/26/11  Thank God for relative good health for many years of life. Also in my whole family.

1/27/11  Thank God for His character attributes as revealed in the Bible. I am studying them after being motivated by 4.5 years teaching the Prayer Notebook, and realizing the Adoration section ["Hallowed be Thy Name"] as the key to the entire prayer.

1/28/11  Thank God for being timeless. As I grow older, an eternal God seems more and more appealing, especially when I have failed to "Cherish the Moment" of family times. This is a great song I encourage you to listen to, and maybe even buy! Take the link, and you might even be able to hear the whole song!

1/29/11  Thank God for His Immensity & Infinity He is everywhere at all times filling all of creation with His presence! He "inhabits eternity." (Isa 57.15)

1/30/11  Sun  Thank God for His Immutability, Immutable: "never changing, always the same." We never come to God when He's absent minded, or if He's of a different disposition from the last time we came to Him. He's "Always the Same" [song 14]. Listen now!

1/31/11  Thank God for God’s SIMPLICITY. He is simple enough to be able to comprehend for salvation, and for most everything we need to understand about Him! 2 Tim 3:16-17  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2/1/11  Thank God for His being Unified (solitary, undivided), that is He is One, that his divine nature is undivided and indivisible. We cannot break apart any part of God. The mind of man would like to put God inside a box so we can be apart from Him at times and do things without being accountable. Not our God!
2/2/11  Thank God for my CO brother. He has shown a courage I am continually in awe of. He has faced some of life's challenges with conviction and steadfastness and created a legacy that's enduring.
2/3/11  Thank God for the heritage we have in America. It is really amazing the Christian character our founding fathers demonstrated as I watch David Barton's "American Heritage Series" purchased this Christmas.
2/4/11  Thank God for the tremendous freedom we still have on the internet and the wealth of information we have access to.
2/5/11  Thank God for biblical heroes (Hebrews 11) that are a challenge to study and meditate on: "And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection." v.35 WOW, they lived considering resurrection quality more important than life!
2/6/11  Sun Thank God for the Star Spankled Banner: Watch it starting at 2:26 for some history you probably never heard!
2/7/11  Thank God for the earth and it's beauty as we witness the majesty of the God of Creation. Ps 19:1
2/8/11  Thank God for a body that can glorify God (see Point #7), an amazing privilege, especially when we consider ours has a "deceitful" heart "and desperately wicked." (Jer 17:9)
2/9/11  Thank God for our Father in Heaven, a wonderful example of a perfect Father, and how He gives us stories like Luke 15:11-32. How few fathers are forgiving and loving as this father was!
2/10/11  Thank God for each new day, a new opportunity to glorify God -- a gift. God is so good. Ps 118:24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
2/11/11  Thank God for HOPE. Romans: Ro 5:1 ¶ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Ro 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

God gives us this precious thought in hope: no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in -- we can still have peace because He has the future in His hands and promises something unseen but assuredly coming.
2/12/11  Thank God for opportunities to help others. There is great satisfaction in seeing others built up and edified.
2/13/11  Sun Thank God He knew we would need to take one day each week and rest. In expecting mankind to rest we are given the expectation to worship Him on this day. He makes no mistakes and knows what we really need.
2/14/11  Thank God for those special days we set apart portions of each year to focus on things important for life and living. Valentine's Day reminds a Christian of God's love: His and ours for each other. "the greatest of these is love!" 1 Cor 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
2/15/11  Thank God He's Sovereign! When I can't understand certain events of life and can rest on this truth: He is in control and permits everything that will happen, and not only that He calls it "GOOD." Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. We discussed this last night in our Bible Study.
2/16/11  Thank God for prayer, the privilege to go to God anytime of day or night and know He is listening, and ready to give His good will to the petitioner.
2/17/11  Thank God for beautiful music, the "new song" He has put in the hearts of believers everywhere, Ps 40:3. The variety and edifying properties of the music and words of this "song" never ceases to amaze me.
2/18/11  Thank God he completes what He starts! Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
2/19/11  Thank God for His guidance in the daily routines of life. He reminds us of things we should be doing and of His ability to provide, but expects us to wait for HIS BEST.
2/20/11  Sun I am especially thankful for places on the internet to see things glorifying to God. Below are links to great you-tube links for you to see:

4/22/11 Wow, I have been delinquent. I have asked God for a revived heart to do His will for this year. March and April have passed by so quickly. I am thankful for God's great forbearance with us. We just had a great revival, and it is a blessing to see a young man begin an exciting life of evangelism. He is especially blessed to be anticipating marriage in May. Those who have connected with me on Facebook can see more.
